Staff

Camp Mind Power is the vision of Susan Schwarting, a life long educator.  Susan has experience teaching and mentoring children of all ages, as well as experience working with parents.  She has taught motivational, positive thinking and organizational skills in both group and individual settings.
The content and activities of Camp MInd Power are based on her experience and extensive research.

Susan is joined by her daughter Sarah Schwarating who has a background in psychology and is working on her second Master's Degree in that field.  She has extensive experience working with children of all ages.

Both Susan and Sarah have a strong belief that your thinking is what determines the path your life will take and that discovering and developing your strengths is the key to a successful and happy life.

Summer Camp

Camp Mind Power
is a unique camp experience.  Athletic, academic and special interest camps abound.
Camp Mind Power's focus is not narrow but covers all aspects of life and can impact your your child for a lifetimeCamp Mind Power will engage your child in presentations and activities that will develop a strong foundation in the 12 areas of self: respect, esteem, control, direction, motivation, confidence, empowerment, awareness, acceptance, image, worth and love.  It will give them the ability to feel successful and happy in whatever they do.  The lessons presented will touch their family and social relationships as well as their academics and outside interests.  Camp Mind Power will help teens navigate the pressure and confusion they feel as they transition into adulthood.

Content

The topics presented at Camp Mind Power will include:  setting goals and enacting a plan to attain them, communication skills and resolving conflicts, how your thinking impacts your life, healthy body/healthy mind, gratitude/service, there are no mistakes only feedback, accountability, eliminating self-limiting and self-defeating thoughts, making integrity based decisions, living in the now, and not being afraid to step outside the box.  The topics are intertwined and build on each other. which gives your child an in depth and lasting experience.

Dates, Location, and Tuition

Camp Mind Power 2009 will be held July 27th to 31st in River Forest, IL (location TBA).  To receive advance notice and special discounts get on our mailing list by filling out the contact information on our registration form and submitting to us. 
Special Offer:  Pre-register by Dec. 1st (no cost or obligation) and receive $100 off 2009's tuition.
 
Tuition:  $1095
includes room, board, materials, and 45 hours of instruction and activities.

Workshops

Camp Mind Power is available to your school, church or community organization  for workshops.
We will work with you to develop the content based on the topics listed above.  They can be designed to serve as a mini sampler of the overall program or an in depth presentation of a few key topics.

Sponsor a Teen

Your donation can help a teen attend one of our workshops.  Donate $50 sponsor one teen; $250 sponsors 7 (we add a bonus of 2 students); $500 sponsors 15 ( we add a bonus of 5 students); $750 sponsors 25 teens (we add a bonus of 10 teens); and $1000 sponsors a full workshop for up to 50 teens.  Send donations to:  Camp Mind Power, 110 Home Ave., Oak Park, IL 60302.
